We want you to contribute your local knowledge to the plan to help reduce bushfire risk across the region.

What is being decided?

The Murray Mallee Bushfire Management Area Plan (BMAP) identifies assets at risk from bushfire and the prevention and preparedness strategies to reduce the risk to those assets. It is not an operational fire-fighting plan. The Murray Mallee BMAP has been developed by the Murray Mallee BMC through engagement with the local councils, CFS volunteers, land managers and other stakeholders.

How can your input influence the decision?

Community input will assist BMC members in deciding on the inclusion of additional assets or changes to treatment strategies. Feedback will contribute to the overall goal of improving bushfire safety in the Murray Mallee.

The Murray Mallee BMAP comprises of three parts:

  • The draft written component (PDF 3.2MB) outlining the planning process, content and other relevant information.
  • An interactive spatial web-based map (external website) that identifies assets and their risk levels, and includes pop up tables of information for each asset.
  • A spreadsheet (XLS 134KB) containing a list of all Murray Mallee BMAP assets their risk rating and risk mitigation treatment strategies.
